LeadLocal’s toolkit of “DO” exercises, were basically fun, but grounded, activities that help us actually tackle problems big and small by coming together and focusing on what needs to be done — then doing it. I felt that the LeadLocal activities were so accessible — so easy and intuitive — that they could be used at MSL (and beyond) as a model for how we process and tackle things that need to get done (again both big and small).
…it’s no good unless you give them the pole. Fancy systems with high price tags and the latest tools don’t always work. Lean, place-based solutions that fit into current organizational practices are the ones that stick. We understand this, so we offer a variety of team-based leadership development approaches to help you catalyze capacity and co-create structures that support a healthy organization–from the ground up. What makes a healthy organization? Good question.
We believe organizations are more akin to complex living organisms than mechanical systems, and that means…
- People come first. Resilient organizations grow from interpersonal relationships that prioritize respect, transparency, and effective feedback.
- It should never be top down. Individuals and teams work best when they are self-organizing and self-managing.
- You can’t separate the why, what and how. Purpose should drive how you work as well as the work you do.
